On October 8, dozens of Quilcene residents met at the Community Center to share their thinking about reopening one of the gas stations.
What a remarkable discussion! Virtually everyone in the room shared their thoughts, their hopes, and their concerns about what is happening – and can happen – in Quilcene. There’s a lot of creative thinking going on -- and the energy to make it happen.At the same time, many of us want to talk about what else Quilcene needs. Remember the saying “A rising tide lifts all boats”? It’s time to raise the tide!
Since we started these conversations, ten meetings have been held all over Quilcene and the Coyle with neighborhood residents who discussed four topics:
* Great things Quilcene has to offer --“assets”,
* What this community needs that we don’t have now ,
* How to boost our appeal to people who drive through our town every year
* Projects and improvements we can accomplish within the next couple of years
