QC1 Projects for the Community

PROJECTS THE COMMUNITY CAN & SHOULD DO
(see above for specific businesses or services that would increase appeal to visitors)
  • Remove the eye-sores in the downtown area
  • Open a gas station with service that is special (wash windshield, check oil & tires)
  • Bakery &/or Pan Amore outlet (esp for their day-old products)
  • Soda fountain (old fashioned) / ice cream parlor (in collaboration with Peninsula Mkt)
  • Holiday lighting for the downtown – make it fancy
  • Repaint the town with a uniform color scheme
  • Improve all the building facades
  • Give a “Quilcene character” to everything we do (reflective of our community theme)
  • Landscape public areas, building entrances & empty spaces
  • Reopen the Whistling Oyster (as a micro-brewery?)
  • 12-mo. Farmers Market (in partnership with Chimacum Market?)
  • Better communication to everyone, e.g. 4x6” card listing events
  • Consolidated local web site to sell handmade products – knitted, woodwork, etc.
  • Quilcene Gift Certificate that all stores will honor
  • Expand the medical clinic hours & services
  • Rx delivery
  • Cooperative buying to save trips
  • Collaboration on PFI orders
  • Form a Work Group to concentrate on community promotion
  • Establish a community identity, a uniform theme, what Quilcene wants to be “known for”
  • Form a community corporation
  • Get 501 (c) (3) designation from the feds
