Reopen and Open New Businesses: Website Team Page

We are looking at how useful websites can help connect the community and stimulate the local economy in a few specific ways.

Update 4-23-11

This team is issuing a call to:

  • Call to Travel Writers and Bloggers who would like to do some articles or a column,
  • Call to Photographers with photos to share for a few wonderful Quilcene slideshows online
  • Call to local Artists and Businesses that would like to be represented in an online directory or two, or classified ads.
  • If these things are of interest please consider coming to our next meeting, time to be announced on this page, and on the Quilcene Conversation email list.

Update 3-28-11:

Bonnie Story(bonnie@storyboardproductions.com) called the Website team together  Thursday morning March 17.  Discussing goals, possibilities,
priorities and pitfalls (G3Ps?) the team talked about website content
that would entice visitors, inform everyone of the services and
businesses we have now in Quilcene (like the “Welcome Wagon” concept
of old), help Quilcene artists and crafters connect with buyers, and
enable residents to post “classified ads” to offer goods and services
to the community.  All of this, without reinventing the wheel the
Chamber of Commerce has already established at www.emeraldtowns.com.
The team also intends to take full advantage of the Community Center’s
web presence at http://quilcenecommunity.blogspot.com.

Center Director Bob Rosen was called into the discussion, and provided
helpful guidance to the team.

With a great foundation built by the Chamber, the Community Center and
our very own Quilcene Conversations adventure, the web site team has plenty of good work to do.
