The first question was like the chicken/egg or egg/chicken question… what comes first? We decided to have a community-wide process to identify a slogan and then have a logo designed (scroll down to read about it in the team archive.) Community members were asked to submit suggestions for a slogan. Over 100 wonderful ideas were given. The task force then narrowed them down to 3 finalists and a community vote concluded that “Quilcene – Pearl of the Peninsula” was the winner.
Now a logo has been designed, by local resident, Anne Ricker, to fit this slogan. Our task force wishes to preview the logo with you – we would like to hear your thoughts. Human nature might be to rework with the design; however, what we are looking for is hopefully not a redesign but your general reaction to the logo design in relation to the slogan.

Mission accomplished! After extensive voting and consideration, we can announce our new slogan which will be used in future signage, brochures, banners, etc:

Here's how the votes came out:
Linger Longer in Quilcene - 86,
Quilcene: Mountains to the Bay = 66,
Quilcene: Pearl of the Peninsula = 139
The Slogan team is also the Logo team. “Logo” needs to follow
“slogan”, so the team has lined up a professional graphic artist (right here, one of us!) to create an emblem that will put Quilcene (back) on the map.
